I have in fact found a GridView Chrome extension for Google Hangouts . Yes, “Google Hangouts”, not just “Google Meet”. The install process is a bit more advanced than your typical chrome extension install, but the developer explains the steps to install at the bottom of the extension page (the previous link). These further instructions on how to ” load as an unpacked extension” may also be helpful.
