Safety for child dressers

Most of the parents find lot of ways to make their homes safe for their children now this safety can be from electrical appliances, stairs or even from cup boards. There are a few other things that should also be kept away from children to keep them safe. Child dressers are one thing that cannot be kept away from any child, so the safety measures should be taken with optimum care.

There are chances that the kids or even children get hurt because of the tip of the child dresser. There are always chances that your child gets hurt due to these tips of the dresser. To avoid these things always stick some soft material at the tip of the child dresser, this may avoid serious injuries from the dresser to the child. The paint can also be a bit toxic if your child dresser is a bit old so always repaint the dresser o time so as to avoid any toxicities from it to the child. Follow these to make your bedroom safe for the child. There might be electric cords that would be attached to the lamps or other electrical items if any kept over the dresser so make proper arrangement to keep children away from these cords.

The corners can also be made safe if they are properly rounded and also done away with soft material on their top.

Child dresser drawers:

There are drawers that come with automatic stoppers, these allow the drawers to stop after a while, and this will not allow the drawer to fall after it has been opened. Child dressers should come with easy in and out drawers. You should never let your child stand on the child dresser’s drawer this is because it may break and can hurt your child’s head too.

Tipping perils

Small young children are really very curious to explore things, they have the natural tendency to open the drawers of the child dressers and thus exploring what is inside it. Sometime they climb up the child dressers top to see what is inside it. While climbing sometimes the drawer can even tip over thus causing serious injuries to the child. Use a permanent anchoring system for your child dresser, if it is not available then use shims and thus make the child dresser sturdy at the end of the wall.

Never ever any heavy object should be placed above the child dresser it might fall causing injury to anyone especially to kids.
